This BIOS Update Utility updates the BIOS program stored in the ThinkPad system to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
This release supports the following system:
- ThinkPad X40
The supported operating systems are as follows:
- Windows Vista 32-bit
- Windows XP
- Windows 2000
Notes:
- If Windows Vista 64-bit is already installed on your system, then you must use the diskette format of this BIOS update.
- This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program version 1.12 (or higher). Please obtain an additional package, Embedded Controller Program Version 1.12 (or higher), and update Embedded Controller Program in the system if necessary.
- ThinkPad models with the Intel Pentium M Processor 738/758/778/733 require the Embedded Controller Program Version 1.32 (or higher).
- If you should update Embedded Controller Program as well as the BIOS, update BIOS first.
