This Embedded Controller Program Service Diskette updates the Embedded Controller Program (H8 controller firmware) stored in the ThinkPad system to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
This release supports the following systems:
- ThinkPad R50e
- ThinkPad R51 (Machine Type 2883, 2887, 2888, 2889, 2894 and 2895) (*1)
Notes:
- (*1) Machine Type 1829, 1830, 1831 and 1836 of ThinkPad R51 family are not supported.
- For ThinkPad R50e users: This version of Embedded Controller Program will only work with BIOS Version 1.03 (or higher). The BIOS is available in an additional package, a link is provided below.
- For ThinkPad R51 users: This version of Embedded Controller Program will only work with BIOS Version 1.17 (or higher). The BIOS is available in an additional package, a link is provided below.
- If you need to update the BIOS as well as the Embedded Controller Program, update the BIOS first.
